We’ve made extraordinary progress towards our goal of reducing chronic diseases during this past year, but we are facing an enormous challenge.
We’re all familiar with the health statistics; Oklahoma ranks at or near the bottom of most national lists. In some parts of Oklahoma County, deaths from heart disease are ten times higher than in healthier areas of the county. Obesity and tobacco use are taking a devastating toll.
Achieving good health in our community will require monumental efforts from all sectors – individuals, businesses, community organizations, agencies, and faith-based groups.
In this section of the website, you will find the OKC-County Health Department’s Community Programs, which are all dedicated to our mission of working to protect health, promote wellness, and prevent disease. To find a specific OCCHD department or program, please refer to the menu on the left-hand side of this page.
